Springhill 2007

Okay now, camp...

Part One: Friday.

I packed all friday afternoon hopeing that packing so late would jog my memory and help me not to forget things. It seemed to work pretty well considering I normally forget such important things like PJ's and toothbrushes. I waited for Mrs. Walker to come pick me up at 4:00, and nothing happend.

4:15 still nothing, 4:30 nope, nada. So I gave them a call and they said that they would be there soon. 4:40, still no sign of them. We were supposed to be at the Dansville Youth Center at 4:30 to leave. 4:45 Mandy calls and asks if I know how to jump start a car. The first thing I think is

Crud, I'm not going.

But then my mom (who is awesome for those who don't know) drives me and my luggage to the DYC just in time to hand off my belongings to Mr. Walker and Phil. Well at least my luggage will be at camp. I went inside and hung out with Mrs. Bloom and the middleschoolers. I finally got to see Gordon! That was cool.

Mrs. Walker, sam, ariel and I can not remember the other girls name, and Cyenne (the walkers dog) all come in the van and we head out, like 30 minutes late but at least we were on the road. We stopped at Burger King and caught up with the rest of the group. I thought we had stopped at McDonalds, but thankfully I noticed all the Freaky King statues or else I would have ordered a Big Mac or something.

Then from BK to K-Mart, picked up some gum, but you really don't care about that. Then we were off to camp. We had dropped sam and cyenne off with sams grandparents and listened to Hawk Nelson and the Numa Numa song mutiple times.

After ariveing at camp we all piled into a small building and headed for the welcoming commity. Some people did a few skits and there was a green screen for us to do something cool in front of... I still am bummed I didn't do it.

Then group picture time! I was looking over the group pic and noticed that Kamie was missing, I was trying to find her like a never ending Where's Waldo game, but then I dawned on me that she got there later that night... to see the group pic go here.

im in the middle with the light green poofy jacket.

Then we went to our cabin and go settled in, I finally figured out that even though you always wanted the top bunk when you were little... that the Bottom bunk is much better, It's easyer to make your bed, to get up early in the morning without waking anyone, ect...

Late night tubing and the speaking sessions were awesome! Though when it is -5 degrees its good to wear layers, just not too many. I wore like 5 layers and almost died walking back up the hill.

I will post pictures just not on here, it takes to long to upload them here...

Today I will talk about the concert I went to and then tomorrow or maybe later tonight I'll talk about springhill camp.

This post has pics so make sure to wait for them to load!!! ^^

The concert was really cool! Me, Mandy, Kamie, Katie, Sam, Scott, and Mrs. Walker went to see the Newsong, Sanctis Real, Hawk Nelson, Steven Curtis Chapman, Jeremy Camp concert on thursday night. I brought a cartoon sign I drew of Hawk Nelson and I out group was able to sit in the first and second rows! The Jonathan and Jason of HN both saw my poster on stage and they liked it! ^^ After wards We went to get things signged and HN asked if I could draw one for them or do an online comic that I could update often. c:

Me and Kamie were so exited! For those who don't know of HN they sing a song about a girl named Katie, so the Katie in our group made a sign saying "I'm Katie" and showed it to Jason, He held her hand and sang the song to her on the stage! It was really cool!

I need to get a frame for the poster they signed... oh And guess what! The President was there! He made a speech and he held my hawk nelson poster! Don't belive me? I have proof, check it out!

All the girls and the boys, the people making noise let me hear you shout, "BRING 'EM OUT! BRING 'EM

"Pump up your fists as you twist like this, till the lights go out, "BRING 'EM OUT! BRING 'EM OUT!"

yep thats right I'm going to see...

HAWK
NELSON!!!

oh, and Jeremy Camp, Steven Curtis Chapman, and all those other singers at Winter Jam 2007 tonight! I drew this huge poster of Hawk Nelson for me and Emily and Kami to hold ^^ This concert is gonna be awesome. Then this weekend Im going to Spring Hill camp to go sledding and hang with His Crib! I'm exited! I love camp, though I think i'll be spening time in the heated pool rather than sledding in negitive tempatures...

-drool-

I saw it! Yay! Starz was playing it today at 9:40 and I thought I was going to miss it since I normally have TeenWorks today, but since we didn't go cause of the weather I was able to see the full thing of Howl's Moving Castle. I thought it was really really really good, I want it for my B-day ^_^

(warning the following is a rant)

It was so beautifully animated, unlike the junk that american animators are putting out. I mean like the last full length animated movie (as in drawn by hand not that STINKIN' overused Computer generated stuff) was Home on the Range... and look how lame that was. I mean what happend to Disney's glory days of Lion King and Beauty and the Beast animation. Something to aspire to, not that lazy Edgy Cartoon Network or CG type animation. I mean I like a good CG movie, but come on! Thats all people do anymore! Yeah, Toy Story was cool and Nemo, Cars, and Open season were great! But everybody and their mother is doing computer generated stuff. I mean it may be seen as an art form, but how artistic is it when it's mostly generated by a computer program.

Beauty and the Beast (which did have some CG in it [not all CG is annoying]) was a work of art, each frame hand sketched, inked, and painted.

Howl's Moving Castle shows that animation isn't only restricted to cheesy saturday morning cartoons. It shows a persons abilities of being able to use common tools to draw something thats realistic to look like art. People seem to make computer movies to make something look so real it seems to be a live action. Animation is a drawing, not photography. If I want to see something that looks real I'd see a live action movie. If I want to see artwork I'll see a Miyazaki movie.

It just makes me upset that the Animation world is dying, CG is taking over, if I want a job in animation, Japan seems to be the last flickering hope.
